Every famous software is giving a web installer or stub when you try to download the full software. The stub is a small file. You have to run it to download the complete software.

But when you want to install the same file on multiple machines. The stub will download the full installer on every machine separately, wasting your bandwidth.

  1. Agreed.
I always attempt to down-load the offline installer then back it up on an external USB HDD. With bandwidth usage becoming more an issue of expense lately, having the software on hand is a must. Having backups, especially for licensed products, can save you from an otherwise miserable chain of events. Back everything up --it's not a new concept and has got to sink in.

    1. I keep everything back up. Docs in cloud, software, songs on hdd.
